29.10.08: GAIKER-IK4 PRIZE WINNER IN THE 2008 EFQM EXCELLENCE AWARD

At the 2008 EFQM Excellence Award Gala Event held in Paris on 27/28 October, the Basque Technology Centre GAIKER-IK4 was one of 11 European organisations given official recognition for their level of business Excellence.

After being awarded the Basque Government Silver and Gold "Q-for-Quality" Prizes in 2002 and 2004 respectively, GAIKER-IK4 took a further step on the path towards Excellence in 2006 with recognition as a Finalist in the 2006 EEA. In 2008, the Technology Centre has been recognised as a Prize Winner for Management by Processes and Facts.

Another Spanish organisation has also been recognised as a Finalist this year, alongside several other well-known organisations from across Europe such as Volkswagen, Bosch and TRW.

EUSKALIT was founded to take up this challenge, to offer Basque Country organisations our help and support in improving their management to deliver standards of Excellence.

This result further consolidates the Basque Country's position as one of the leading regions of Europe in business management, with 19 such accolades through the EEA in the past 11 years. In this respect, Spain leads the way with 27 recognition awards (19 from the Basque Country), followed by Germany (24) and the UK (22).
