Silver Q Award and the Gold Q - Basque Quality Award
These Basque Government awards are given to those companies, Education Centres,
Health Centres and other organisations in the Basque Country which demonstrate an
advanced level in management practice.
EUSKALIT is the body responsible for administering these awards.
These are the organisations which got an award.
Purpose
The purpose of these awards is:
- To enable those Basque Country organisations most advanced in the area of management
to further improve through an external assessment which highlights strengths and
areas for improvement.
- To give public recognition to the effort made by these organisations and to the level
of management excellence achieved by them.
How to obtain these awards
These awards are the recognition that an organisation has reached an advanced level in
its management practices.
To assess this level, Euskalit offers Basque Country companies and organisations an external
assessment service, using the EFQM business excellence model as a reference.
The Silver Q award is given by the Basque Government to those organisations which, as a result
of external assessment, score in excess of 400 points against the EFQM Excellence Model. At a
higher level, those organisations scoring in excess of 500 points against the Model may be
awarded the Gold Q - Basque Quality Award.
Benefits
The main benefit of external assessment is the feedback report given to all applicants by the
team of assessors. This report provides the applicants with a clear insight into the level
of Quality achieved and their main areas for improvement.
Who can apply?
All public or private sector organisations based in the Basque Country, and business units of
large companies which carry out more than 50% of their operational activity in the Basque
Country and have a sufficiently large management capacity in all areas of the European
Management Model, may apply to Euskalit for external assessment, and thus be eligible for
the Silver Q Award and the Gold Q - Basque Quality Award.
The applicant's management team must have a sound knowledge of the EFQM business
excellence model, and must additionally have completed on at least two occasions
the management improvement cycle set out below:
